Buzzfeed reports that Indiana State Representative Bob Morris is declining to honor the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts of America on the grounds that they are a “radical” organization. Accusing the GSA of celebrating lesbians, forming a close alliance with Planned Parenthood, and cozying up to Michelle Obama among other charges, Morris appealed to fellow House Republicans in a letter explaining his stance:
I challenge each of you to examine these matters more closely before you extend your name and your reputation to endorse a group that has been subverted in the name of liberal progressive politics and the destruction of traditional American family values.
Morris has decided to involve his own daughters in the more traditional American Heritage Girls Little Flowers organization, an outfit befitting of a “conservative Hoosier upbringing.”
What do you think? Is Bob Morris right to be concerned about the GSA, or is he blowing things out of proportion?
